Millbrook Playhouse WAIT UNTIL DARK

Thrilled to let you all know that I'll be back at the beloved Millbrook Playhouse for the 3rd year in a row! This time I'm directing the new Jeffrey Hatcher adaptation of Frederick Knott's WAIT UNTIL DARK--which is fortuitous, as the first play I directed at Millbrook was Knott's OTHER suspense masterpiece written for the stage, DIAL 'M' FOR MURDER.

Last year's STEEL MAGNOLIAS was a favorite of actors and audiences alike, and it was fun getting in touch with my Southern roots. But I also welcome any chance to work on well-written theatre suspense classics. When they're well done, they satisfy the audience in a way no other genre does. And after AND THEN THERE WERE NONE at Judson Theatre Company in March, it's shaping up to be a suspenseful year!

WAIT UNTIL DARK will be a welcome reunion with actors, designers, and staff I've worked with previously at Millbrook and at Judson Theatre Company. The show opens June 30--a very special day.

Goodnight, SHEAR MADNESS NYC

After 23 previews and 602 regular performances, the NYC production of SHEAR MADNESS closed after the Sunday night show on April 23 at the Davenport Theatre. We opened at New World Stages November 11, 2015, and moved to the Davenport in July 2016.

It's rare for a new show doing a full week of performances (8 shows/wk) to last a year and a half in today's commercial off-Broadway environment. Here's to the many happy times.

Alison Arngrim is wonderful

Here's another really superb interview with Alison Arngrim, talking about her career, her outlook on life, and of course on Agatha Christie's AND THEN THERE WERE NONE. Speaking as a producer, it's a blessing when you have someone who is great in the show AND great at doing press/interviews...and Alison is!  http://bit.ly/2lhdZVK

And Carrie Frye makes the whole thing a breeze to read, and asked all the right questions!

Fun Alison Arngrim AND THEN THERE WERE NONE interview

Here's a delicious and breezy AberdeenTimes.com interview with Alison Arngrim where she talks about her upcoming trip south to play Emily Brent in Judson Theatre Company's production of Agatha Christie's AND THEN THERE WERE NONE (March 23-26).

My favorite quote: " When I looked up Judson Theatre Company I saw... that practically everyone I know has been there to do a show, I thought I’d better go."

AberdeenTimes.com Interview

AberdeenTimes.com's Christy Holland did this interview with me; part of a series of interviews they're doing with people who grew up in Moore County who went on to careers in the arts.

It was nice to take some time and think back on the good ol' days, and also to look forward to the future for Judson Theatre Company and plans for shows in the city. Thank you, AberdeenTimes.com!
